WeHa Theater Group Sets Aside One Night For 'Young Professionals'

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford-based theater group is hosting a special showing of its summertime production just for "young professionals" aged 21-35.

The Playhouse on Park group's production of "Bandstand" on Thursday, Aug. 3, will feature a pre-show wine-and-cheese event, with show tickets priced at $25 with all seats reserved.

The wind-and-cheese affair is as 6 p.m., while the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

"Bandstand" is a musically uplifting period piece about soldiers returning home from World War II in 1945 and taking part in a swing band competition.

Playhouse on Park has been showing "Bandstand" since July 12 and it will continue through to Aug. 20.

For the "Young Professionals Night" event, guests can also lend a hand for current veterans.

"Young Professionals are encouraged to support Playhouse on Park’s drive for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE)," wrote the theater group.

"Playhouse on Park is collecting new toiletries, socks, underwear, and hygiene products (for both men and women). Items can be brought to Playhouse on Park during the run of 'Bandstand.'"
