West Hartford 2018 Primary Election Guide

Tuesday, Aug. 14 is primary day across CT; in West Hartford see polling locations and sample ballots for Democrats and Republicans here.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, for party-affiliated voters to cast their vote for their party's candidate for Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer, Attorney General, and in some districts, Comptroller, State Senator and State Representative.

There are several Democratic primaries: Ned Lamont is facing a challenge from Bridgeport Mayor Joseph Ganim to be the party's candidate this November for governor; for lieutenant governor, Susan Bysiewicz is facing a primary challenge from Eva Bermudez Zimmerman; for treasurer, Shawn Wooden is being challenged by Dita Bhargava; the race for attorney general is a three-way contest, between party endorsed William Tong, Paul Doyle and Chris Mattei.

On the Republican side, for governor, it is a five-way race between party endorsed Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Timothy Herbst, Steve Obsitnik, Bob Stefanowski and David Stemerman; lieutenant governor is a three-way race between Joe Markley, Jayme Stevenson and Erin Stewart. The U.S. Senate seat to contest Chris Murphy this fall is a primary battle between Matthew Corey and Dominic Rapini. There is a state treasurer contest between Thad Gray and Art Linares; a comptroller race between Kurt Miller and Mark Greenberg; and an attorney general race between Sue Hatfield and John Shaban.

The Town of West Hartford has nine voting districts.

District #1 - King Philip Middle School, 100 King Philip Drive

District #2 - Bristow Middle School, 34 Highland Street

District #3 - West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main Street

District #4 - Elmwood Community Center, 1106 New Britain Avenue

District #5 - Wolcott School, 71 Wolcott Road

District #6 - Conard High School, 110 Beechwood Road

District #7 - Sedgwick Middle School, 128 Sedgwick Road

District #8 - Braeburn School, 45 Braeburn Road

District #9 - Hall High School, 975 North Main Street

Voters can find out if they are registered to vote and their polling place at the Secretary of the State's "Look Up" site: https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx.

Voter Identification Requirements
