West Hartford Agrees to Purchase UConn Campus
The town council unanimously voted to move forward with the purchase of the 58-acre property on Tuesday night.

West Hartford, CT — In a unanimous vote, the West Hartford Town Council agreed to purchase the 58-acre UConn property for $5 million on Tuesday night.
The Hartford Courant reports the town will pay $1 million this year and $4 million at the target closing date – Oct. 2, 2017.
The sale price comes at an apparent discount considering UConn had originally planned to sell the property to the Weiming Education Group for $12.6 million.
