West Hartford Celebrates Top Ranking Among CT Towns

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local officials are basking in the afterglow of another year of topping a key survey regarding quality of life in Connecticut towns.

For the eighth straight year, West Hartford was named the "best place to live" in Connecticut according to Niche, a Pennsylvania-based company/website that ranks and reviews geographic entities.

It is used by many professionals when it comes to moving and job searches as well as by potential college students in determining where to study.

Recently, Niche.com came out with its annual top 100 places to live in Connecticut and, as usual, West Hartford was tops.

According to town officials Wednesday, who sent out a notice of the ranking, West Hartford was also the 78the best place in America.

Other rankings include:

• West Hartford as tops in Connecticut for "young professionals" and 130th in the U.S.

• West Hartford is the best suburbs to live in Connecticut and 148th in America.

"Niche rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews," wrote the Town of West Hartford Wednesday.

"Niche analyzed 230 cities and more than 18,000 places to compile this year’s ranking. Community attributes considered in developing the list included housing, public schools, crime and safety, nightlife, good for families, and diversity."
