During its most recent grant cycle, the fund awarded more than $45,000 to eight local organizations.
Individual awards ranged from $2,500 to $10,000 and supported programs aimed at expanding access to services and improving quality of life in West Hartford, according to the foundation.
Prospective applicants can learn more about the process during two virtual information sessions on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Sessions are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Those sessions can be accessed via this Zoom link.

The local fund is part of a broader community grant program established in 2019 across each of the 29 municipalities served by the foundation.
Through the end of 2025, the community funds had supported more than 1,000 grants totaling more than $4 million, according to the foundation.
The initiative began with a $100,000 investment in each community in 2019, followed by additional investments in 2021 and 2025. The money supports both current grantmaking and longer-term endowments.
The West Hartford Community Fund is supported by the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation, formerly known as the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
