West Hartford Dems, GOP Pick 2023 Candidate Slates

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Summertime politically means political parties are getting together to figure out who is on their ticket for major races.

With 2023 being an odd-numbered election year, that means local municipal races will be decided at the polls this November.

Last week, the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee and the West Hartford Republican Town Committee choosed their slate of candidates for the 2023 elections.

The Democratic slate is as follows:

• The Democratic Party slate for West Hartford Town Council includes incumbents Shari Cantor, Carol A. Blanks, Ben Wenograd, Deb Polun, Tiffani McGinnis and newcomer Barry Walters

• The Democratic Party slate for West Hartford Board of Education includes three first-time candidates: Jason Gagnon, LaToya Fernandez and Shannon Marimón.

• Democratic Incumbent Leon Davidoff was endorsed for West Hartford Town Clerk.

The Republican slate is as follows:

• The Repulican Party slate for West Hartford Town Council includes incumbents Mary M. Fay, Alberto Cortes, Mark Zydanowicz and newcomer Aaron Sawar.

• The Repulican Party slate for West Hartford Board of Education includes incumbent Ethan Goldman and newcomer Kyle Zelazny.

• The GOP is not yet endorsing a hopeful for town clerk.
