WEST HARTFORD, CT — The state Medical Examining Board in December imposed sanctions on a West Hartford doctor for bad handwriting.

According to a report by the Connecticut Health I-Team, Dr. Murray Wellner was fined $1,000 and his license placed on probation for nine months after an investigation found that he had used illegible handwriting to document the files of at least three patients from 2013 to 2020, according to the state Department of Public Health.

Some of his patient files will now be subject to review, according to the I-Team report.
