West Hartford Father of Four in Critical Condition Following Shooting: Police
Police have classified Sunday's shooting as a domestic violence incident and said the mother has been released from the hospital.

West Hartford, CT — The father of four children is in critical condition after being shot in the head during a domestic violence incident on Sunday morning, according to West Hartford Police.
Police responded to a Jackson Avenue home around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 26, on the report of shots fired.
Arriving officers located an adult female victim outside the residence with three juveniles and also located an adult male and one juvenile inside the residence, according to Capt. Frank Fallon.

Both adults suffered gunshot wounds in the incident and were transported to area hospitals. The children were not injured, police said.
Police said on Monday morning that the adults are the biological parents of the four children and the mother has been treated and released from the hospital.

The woman sustained a single gunshot wound to her left outer forearm, according to Fallon.
The man remains hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining a single gunshot wound to the right side of his head, according to Fallon.
Police have classified the case as a domestic violence incident and said there is no additional threat to the community.
“The names of the involved parties will not be released at this time due to the domestic violence classification of the incident and the fact that the investigation to determine exactly what occurred is still under way,” Fallon said in a press release.
The children are staying with family members, according to Fallon.
