West Hartford FD Promotes Several, Welcomes Two New Firefighters

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Fire Department this month celebrated the arrival of new firefighters joining the ranks and the promotions of veteran firefighters taking on new roles.

The WHFD recently hosted a pinning ceremony at West Hartford Town Hall to commemorate recent promotions and welcome new probationary members, according to West Hartford Firefighters Local 1241.

It featured not only the family and friends of many firefighters, but also West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor, West Hartford Town Manager Rick Ledwith and Councilperson Debra Polun.

West Hartford Fire Chief Greg Priest and Cantor pinned and swore in members into their new duties.

Meanwhile, West Harford Fire Department Deputy Chief Jarrad Smith served as the master of ceremonies for the event.

"Local 1241 wishes all our members the best of luck and expects great things from everyone in their new positions," wrote the union.
Those promoted/welcomed in the department are:

• William Beebe, promoted to Deputy Fire Chief (now Interim Assistant Chief)

• Neal Sinatro promoted to Deputy Fire Chief

• Christopher Wilcox hired as Fire Inspector

• John Bigham promoted to Fire Captain

• Russell Duffy promoted to Fire Captain

• Sean Howard promoted to Fire Lieutenant

• Craig Larsen promoted to Fire Lieutenant

• Rocco Laudato promoted to Fire Lieutenant

• William Berghoff promoted to Apparatus Operator

• David Wheeler promoted to Apparatus Operator

• David Holmes on becoming a Probationary Firefighter Paramedic

• Adam Horne on becoming a Probationary Firefighter Paramedic
