2 West Hartford Fire Officials Earn Major Promotions

West Hartford's firefighters' union announced the recent naming of two new deputy chiefs within the WHFD's ranks.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Two prominent leaders within the West Hartford Fire Department were recently awarded major promotions.

According to West Hartford Firefighters Local 1241, veteran firefighter Adam Pacheco was promoted from captain to deputy chief as was Russell Duffy.

"DC Pacheco will bring his expertise and leadership to the training and support services division, where he will oversee the planning and implementation of departmental training," wrote the union.

"His dedication and passion for the fire service make him the perfect fit for this vital role."

Local 1241 wished Pacheco luck in his new role.

"We’re excited to see all he will accomplish in this new position," wrote the union.

Duffy's role will be as a new shift commander.

"He will be the senior responding officer, and incident commander, for all emergent calls on his shift," wrote Local 1241

"This position has a great deal of responsibility, and we know he is going to excel."
