WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford emergency officials are urging residents to prepare for potentially severe weather as strong thunderstorms and gusty winds are forecast to move through Connecticut this afternoon and evening.
According to the West Hartford Office of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service is forecasting the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms across the state during the afternoon and early evening hours.
In addition to the threat of thunderstorms, winds are expected to increase throughout the day, with sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts potentially reaching 30 to 40 mph.

Officials advised residents with outdoor plans to closely monitor weather conditions and be prepared to move indoors quickly if storms approach.
