West Hartford Kids Learn to Think of Others on Giving Tuesday

Local children helped spread joy on Giving Tuesday, a day meant as an occasion to think of others.

WEST HARTFORD, CT - Local preschoolers learned the meaning of “Giving Tuesday” this week, Fox 61 reported.

The kids of Solomon Schechter Day School, some as young as 2-years old, helped make dog treats for animal shelters in the area, according to Fox 61. School officials thought the holiday was a perfect fit to share a lesson of giving with the young children.

Giving Tuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, meant as an occasion to think of others, according to Fox 61. Some local fifth and second graders also got in on the act, with some giving cookies to police and firefighters.
