West Hartford Legion Baseball Weekend Wrap-Up
West Hartford is vying for the zone championship, and plays the final game of the regular season Monday night.
It was a tough weekend for the locals.
On Friday night we dropped a heart breaker to Plainville 3-2 in the 13th. West Hartford left 24 runners on base and couldn’t get the run in. Plainville only had three hits but played tremendous defense.
West Hartford then returned to Plainville on Saturday and lost another heart-breaker, 5-4, in the bottom of the 7th. Once against the 96ers outplayed Plainville but couldn’t get that final run in.

Hats off to Plainville for taking the series 2 games to 1. It was the first series loss by West Hartford in over two years.
West Hartford then bounced back on Sunday with a win over Hartford, 7-0. Charlie Fisher threw the shut out and has not allowed a run in 25 innings. John Dinucci had two doubles .

West Hartford's current record is 18-5 with the final zone game scheduled against New Britain for Monday night. If West Hartford wins against New Britain, they win the zone for the second straight year. If we lose, we will host a play-in game on Sunday at 1 p.m. against a team to be named later.
