West Hartford Library Launches Summer Reading Program This Week

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The West Hartford Public Library will launch its Summer Reading 2026 program on Tuesday, June 23, inviting residents of all ages to participate in reading challenges, educational programs and prize opportunities throughout the summer.

A featured kickoff event will take place at the Noah Webster Library, 20 South Main St., from 4 to 6 p.m.

The program, themed "Escape into a Story," runs from June 23 through Aug. 25 and is open to children, teens and adults.

Participants can earn chances to win prizes by reading books and attending library programs during the summer.

Library officials said the program will feature a variety of activities and events designed to engage readers of all ages.

The library will host a kickoff event on Tuesday, June 23, at all West Hartford Public Library locations.

Families can learn about the summer reading program, register participants, pick up promotional items, and take part in activities.

The event will include a performance and interactive activities led by Circus Moves, where attendees can learn skills such as juggling and plate spinning.

Library officials are encouraging residents to register the entire family and participate throughout the summer.
