West Hartford Man Killed in Tractor Trailer Crash on I-95 in RI
BREAKING: The crash temporarily shut down all lanes on Interstate 95 south near Exit 1.

HOPKINTON, RI – Rhode Island State Police are investigating a fatal crash that killed a West Hartford man Thursday.
Police and state troopers responded to reports of a crash close to 2 p.m. on Interstate 95 south, just north of Exit 1. According to a release, investigations revealed that a tractor trailer had been traveling southbound in the low speed lane in Hopkinton.
The trailer cut to the right in order to avoid a vehicle changing lanes. It struck a guardrail, and then a tree.

Driver Theodore Bukofsky, 58, was life flighted to Rhode Island Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. All lanes of I-95 south at Exit 1 were closed for approximately two hours while the tractor trailer was removed.
The trailer and the vehicle changing lanes never made contact, and the vehicle’s driver contacted police when the incident occurred. The crash is currently under investigation by Rhode Island State Police.
