West Hartford Movie Theater To Reopen As New ‘Luxury’ Cinema

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The Cinépolis movie theater that closed earlier this month at Blue Back Square in West Hartford will be transformed into a “luxury” cinema when it reopens later this summer, according to officials. The theater’s parent company, Cinépolis USA, announced Thursday that the forthcoming “Cinépolis Luxury Cinema” will mark the company’s first “luxury” theater in the Northeast. The previous “premium” theater closed on March 6 for a multi-million-dollar renovation project at the location on Main Street in West Hartford.

“The projected multi-million-dollar project will transform the Cinépolis West Hartford theater into a destination unto itself,” officials said in a news release. “Following its completion, the theater will offer guests a luxury movie-going experience with 359 fully-reclining leather seats in six auditoriums, each complete with cutting-edge sound and high-definition projection technology. An upscale lounge-style lobby will anchor the entry space complete with full bar and gourmet concessions stand. A full Luxury Cinemas Menu and in-theater waiter service will be available for guests to order dine-in food direct to their seat at the push of a button, or to order in advance through the Cinépolis USA mobile app.”

Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas West Hartford will be AV compatible for events and business meetings, offering “engaging and out-of-the-box venue spaces” for small groups or large parties booking a complete theater or individual auditorium buy-out, according to officials.
