Brain Restore Centers is a nationwide initiative, lead by experts across every medical speciality to finally tackle the problem of concussion, brain injury and cognitive decline rapidly increasing across our country. While Brain Injury and Cognitive Decline is on the rise in our country, our clinic is offering Free Advanced FDA-approved RightEye Exam to all Connecticut residents in an attempt to help give people in our communities a detailed deep dive into understanding the “WHY” behind what they are experiencing. Many members of our communities silently struggle with lingering symptoms of head injuries, PTSD, brain fog, depression, anxiety, and memory loss, and we want to give back by providing hope and help through real, science-backed brain health solutions. S.P.A.R.K.&nbsp;stands for&nbsp;Science. Play. Action. Research. Knowledge,&nbsp;and that’s exactly what the morning is all about. Students will dive into interactive labs, ask big questions, and explore how science connects to the world around them.
Throughout the morning, students will rotate through all three engaging sessions:
Snack Science: Cracking the Code of Carbs, Fats &amp; Proteins
Students will test everyday foods to uncover the building blocks of life - carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.
From Cabbage to Chemistry: A Color-Changing Exploration of pH
Using red cabbage as a natural indicator, students will experiment with acids and bases and watch chemistry come alive in vibrant color.
Air Apparent: The Invisible Force All Around Us

Tee up for a great cause this spring! Gifts of Love invites the community to its annual Golf Tournament on Monday, May 18 at the beautiful Golf Club of Avon.
This fun-filled day brings together local supporters for 18 holes of golf, contests, raffles, auctions, and more—all to benefit families in need across the Greater Hartford area.
Proceeds from the tournament help Gifts of Love provide food, clothing, and essential support to hundreds of local families each week, including distributing over 375 backpacks filled with nutritious, kid-friendly meals.

Fay will take us through the amazing small group tour she recently went on. We’ll experience the beautiful landscape of Tanzania and its variety of animals roaming free through the vast, breathtaking wilderness areas of the Serengeti. She will also share a highlight of the trip visiting the nearby tropical islands of Zanzibar.

Hop Meadow Country Club

The Friends of the Simsbury Public Library will hold their 2026 Spring Author Luncheon on Tuesday, May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, CT.They will host New York Times bestselling author, Patti Callahan Henry, who will discuss her latest historical mystery novel, The Story She Left Behind, an engaging, lyrical tale based on a real, unsolved literary mystery of author Barbara Newhall Follett. The cost is $45 per person and includes an entree, bread basket, delicious dessert, and lemonade/ice tea, tea/coffee (cash bar). Books will be available for purchase and autographing. This is a popular event with limited seating so get your reservations in early! Please RSVP by April 30th.
