WEST HARTFORD, CT — The Connecticut Fire Academy is scheduled to present certificates of completion to the 67 graduates of the Recruit Firefighter Program's Class 68 next month and West Hartford will be a part of it.

The ceremony is slated for 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at The First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield.

Class 68 began on August 30, 2021 and endured a fourteen-week training regimen focusing on all aspects of Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, Rescue and numerous other fire related subjects. Recruits will be nationally certified to the levels of Firefighter II and Hazardous Materials Operations.

Class 68 represents the fire departments of Bridgeport, Bristol, Easton, East Hartford, East Haven, Fairfield, Greenwich, Manchester, Middletown, Naugatuck, New London, North Haven, Ridgefield, Southington, Torrington, West Hartford, West Haven, Willimantic and Wilton.
