West Hartford Police Have Candy For Trick-or-Treaters

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police will have something for Halloween trick-or-treaters this evening in a special, drive-up event for community members.

The department also has some trick-or-treating safety tips:

• Motorists are asked to use extra care while driving

• Trick or Treaters should stay on the sidewalk
• Walk in well-lit areas and utilize crosswalks
• Wear reflective or lighted safety gear or add a glowstick to a costume
• Carry a flashlight and if on the street walk against traffic
• Stay in groups and never go into a residence
• Always inspect candy/treats before eating
