West Hartford Police Increase Presence After School Shooting Threat

But police stress that their investigation shows that there is no evidence to support the rumor.

WEST HARTFORD, CT - West Hartford police said Tuesday morning that on Monday night they received information that “there was a threat of a school shooting, possibly at Hall High today.”

“We investigated all leads last night and found this was only an unfounded rumor that was perpetuating itself. We take any and all rumors or threats very seriously and will investigate all of them. At this time we have an extra police presence at the school due to the volatility of this type of incident. However, we don’t anticipate any issues at the school today,” said Ted Stoneburner, who is the department’s spokesman, in a statement to the media.
