UPDATE: Man Critically Injured in Double Stabbing at West Hartford Hookah Lounge

Police say a man and his wife both stabbed each other with a sword during the early morning incident.

A man was hospitalized with life-threatening stab wounds after a “violent domestic incident” with his wife at the West Hartford hookah lounge they own together, according to NBC Connecticut.

NBC reports that George Ayoub, 47, was listed in critical condition and his wife, 24-year-old Najeh Frehi was hospitalized with serious injuries to her shoulder and hands.

Police are investigating the incident in which both the husband and wife apparently stabbed each other with a large sword that responding officers recovered at the scene.

West Hartford police are investigating a double stabbing incident that occurred at the Arabian Nights hookah lounge, WFSB 3 TV reports.

Two people were taken to the hospital, their conditions were not released. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. and it involved a man and a woman, police said.

The business usually closes at 1 a.m. but police weren’t called until 3 a.m. and they had to force their way into the establishment. Police are still investigating.
