WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Police Department is putting out notices that it is looking for a few good men and women to join its ranks.

The WHPD has recently announced thatit is hiring certified and entry-level police officers.

Certified officers are law enforcers who have already completed basic police academy training and have worked at other departments.

Entry-level officers require academy training before field training in West Hartford.

Former military police officers may qualify for "comparative certification," and be eligible for full or partial waivers of police training requirements.

Entry-level pay is $73,632, with five-year service pay up to more than $95,000.

There is also a full pension and health insurance benefits.
