West Hartford Police Officer Honored By Prominent Local Nonprofit

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford police officer has been recognized for her work building relationships and trust within the community.

Officer Lauren Rieger last week received the "Build No Fences Award" from the Bridge Family Center, according to the West Hartford Police Department Monday, Sept. 14.

“This honor recognizes Officer Rieger’s commitment to building trust, strengthening relationships, and making a positive impact throughout the West Hartford community,” the department said.

“Congratulations, Officer Rieger,” police added.

The Bridge Family Center is a West Hartford-based regional nonprofit serving children and families throughout Greater Hartford.

Founded in 1969, the organization provides services for children and families in crisis as well as intervention and prevention programs aimed at supporting young people and families.

The Build No Fences Award is presented annually by the organization and recognizes an individual for collaboration and work supporting children, young people, and families.

The award has traditionally been presented as a surprise during the Bridge Family Center's annual Breakfast on the Bridge, an event marking the start of the school year.
