$1.5 Million Approved By State To Enhance Safety In West Hartford
West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz and other officials made the announcement Tuesday.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local and state officials were on hand Tuesday to announce recently approved state funding for the ongoing Park Road Rehabilitation Project.
The state Bond Commission recently approved $1.5 million in state bonding for the rehab, which targets various infrastructure improvements that should improve the ability of residents to use the road.
Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz was on hand for the event Tuesday at West Hartford Town Hall, joined by West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor and other officials as well as members of the Park Road Neighborhood Association.

The funds will update the road’s infrastructure for pedestrians and bicyclists.
As a result, those who "bike or drive through the neighborhood will be able to experience and enjoy the plethora of local shops, restaurants and recreation spaces that span along the length of Park Road," reads an announcement from the state.
