West Hartford Resident Named To Prominent Nonprofit's Board
The Hartford native was named to the board of directors of the Urban League of Greater Hartford last month.

WEST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — A prominent West Hartford resident and Hartford native was named to the board of directors of a local nonprofit dedicated to racial equity in the area.
The Urban League of Greater Hartford Board of Directors hosted its 2024 annual meeting on June 20, where West Hartford resident Pamela Hippolyte, assistant vice president at Liberty Bank, was elected as a new member of its board.

Her appointment was one among many named to the board that evening.
“We are excited to welcome the expertise and vision of our officers and our new Board members as our organization enters a new year of empowerment,” said David Hopkins, president and chief executive officer of the Urban League of Greater Hartford. “I am excited to work with all of them and our dedicated staff as we conclude another decade of the agency’s legacy of impact.”

According to the Urban League, Hippolyte brings experience in cross-functional team leadership and business strategy development in affordable mortgage lending to the Board of the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
Born and raised in Hartford, she has dedicated her career to helping the low-to-moderate and marginal individuals who often do not have a voice and helps them with obtaining sustainable and stable homeownership.
For over 30 years, her focus has been on increasing homeownership through numerous types of initiatives, and has helped thousands of individuals and families become homeowners.

The Urban League of Greater Hartford is a community-based, nonprofit established in 1964 as the National Urban League’s 66th affiliate. Its mission is to "promote racial equity through economic empowerment programs in the areas of youth development, adult education, workforce development, housing, personal financial management, community health, and social justice."
