In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. The evil sea witch, Ursula, grants her the opportunity to sprout legs and go after the heart of Prince Eric, but with Ursula working against her she’ll need help from her friends and family if she is ever to see her dreams come true. Based on the award-winning Disney film, the Little Mermaid is a musical favorite for audiences of all ages and features beloved songs such as “Under the Sea”, “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World”. Hear new songs, meet new characters and relive the tale that you and your family will fall in love with all over again!
Leading the production of Little Mermaid is director Eric Wilczak, a TOH veteran director, actor and Board Member. Musical Direction provided by Holly McCann, a longtime MD for numerous TOH productions, and Choreography provided by Jennifer Lynn Clark.
The Little Mermaid cast is comprised of experienced adult actors and actresses, like Becky Sawicki, appearing as the little mermaid Ariel. Becky was on the Warner stage in Hello Dolly and is making her Landmark debut. Daniel Beaudoin, most recently seen as Mary Sunshine in Landmark’s 5 star production of Chicago, plays the role of sarcastic guardian Sebastian, while the love-sick sidekick, Flounder is played by Ben Stone-Zelman, who also played Michael Banks in Landmark’s Mary Poppins last summer. Playing the role of devious diva Ursula is Cat Heidel who was seen on the Opera House stage as Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein. An ensemble of talented dancers & vocalists both adults and children, will round out the undersea cast.
Director Eric Wilczak remarks on the enthusiasm exhibited by the cast, production team and many volunteers; “This has been such an amazingly special cast and production team to work with! Right from the start, everyone has had such great energy and chemistry. It really strikes you when they are performing. The smiles on their faces are genuine and it makes every number so enjoyable to watch. I couldn’t be prouder and the audience is sure to be blown away!”.
