West Hartford Runners Fare Well in Stratton Brook Invitational

SIMSBURY, CT — On a perfect day for running, a number of cross country athletes from the north-central Connecticut region turned in impressive performances in the 36th annual Stratton Brook Invitational Saturday in Simsbury.

Hall High School placed second in the boys varsity large school team competition, paced by the pack trio of Tommy O'Gorman (13th), Kory Powell (14th) and John Robinson (15th).

In the boys varsity small school race, Brian Waterston of Northwest Catholic was fourth, while teammate Michael Stamm placed 16th. Kathryn Shea of Northwest Catholic was fifth in the girls varsity small school event, while Gwendolyn Geisler of Conard was sixth in the girls varsity large school race.
