Want To Mentor West Hartford Pupils? What You Need To Know
The school system is hosting a training session Tuesday at the West Hartford Public Library.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Those looking to aid a student and become their mentor through the West Hartford School System are invited to a special forum Tuesday afternoon.
A special training session will take place at the West Hartford Public Library Noah Webster House, 20 S. Main St., West Hartford, from 1 to 2 p.m.
The information session will be hosted by Carol Wilkas, who works as the local school system's mentor program coordinator.
She will host local mentor Dr. Susan G. Weinberger, who is also known as "Dr. Mentor."

Weinberger is president of the Mentor Consulting Group and is considered a "pioneer in the creation of school-based mentoring in America," according to an announcement of the program.
Mentoring basically pairs local businesspeople and professionals in the community with schools to bring a real world perspective into the classrooms and the lives of students.
