Organizers said they hope to recruit at least 40 participants, with a goal of reaching 80 volunteers to carry 12-inch-by-18-inch country flags.

Participants do not need to have a personal connection to the country whose flag they carry. Volunteers may select any flag they wish to represent.

Organizers are encouraging participants to wear clothing inspired by the colors of their chosen flag, traditional attire, a West Hartford America 250 shirt, or other parade-themed outfits.

The task force is also seeking two volunteers to carry larger 3-foot-by-5-foot Connecticut and West Hartford flags during the parade. Holsters will be provided for those flags.

Volunteers can register through SignUpGenius and are asked to indicate their preferred country flag in the comments section during sign-up.
