West Hartford Students Launch 5K Freedom Run

The non-competitive run, which was started by several Conard High School students, will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

The inaugural 5K West Hartford Freedom Run, which was started by several Conard High School juniors, will take place on Sunday, July 5.

Connor Swanton, whose two uncles both served in Afghanistan and Iraq, came up with the idea for the run.

After watching a commercial for the Wounded Warrior Project, Swanton wanted to give back to those who sacrificed their lives to protect this nation. He brought together several of his classmates to help him in this endeavor.
