WeHa Supplemental Tax Bills: What You Need To Know

The deadline for supplemental tax payment is Jan. 1, 2024.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The tax office had a "special gift" for taxpayers on Monday, Dec. 11, but it wasn't something on anyone's holiday lists.

That's because second-installment tax bills on the Oct. 1, 2022 grand list were sent out to local taxpayers, town officials said.

The town's revenue collection office was to mail tax bills for real estate, personal property and supplemental motor vehicles.

Payment is due on Jan. 1, 2024, with a grace period until Feb. 1.

The supplemental motor vehicle bill applies to any vehicle registered with Connecticut DMV after Oct. 1, 2022, and before Aug. 1, 2023.

The vehicle will be valued beginning with the month in which it was acquired. The mill rate for motor vehicles is 32.46.

Taxes may be paid online at westhartfordct.gov/tax, or the Revenue Collection Center in West Hartford Town Hall, Room 109.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed on Dec. 25, Jan. 1, and Jan. 15.

If payment is not made by Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, the tax becomes delinquent and subject to interest penalties.

Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or the interest, so contact the West Hartford Revenue Collection Office at 561-7474, ext. 4 if you do not receive a bill. Taxpayers can also look up their account by visiting the town's online tax portal: Town of West Hartford - Tax Bills Search & Pay (mytaxbill.org).
