West Hartford Theater Group Fundraiser Enjoys A Big Night

WEST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — A recent fund-raising benefit for a local theater group raised about $100,000 that will help the group continue to entertain and educate.

"Playhouse on Park" supporters gathered May 13 for Playhouse on Park’s annual fundraiser, "Encore!"

This year’s theme was Razzle Dazzle, and the evening included dinner, drinks, live/silent auctions, dancing with the Latanya Farrell Band and live performances paying tribute to the work of legendary playwrite John Kander including "Chicago," "Cabaret" and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

It all took place at The Society Room of Hartford in Hartford.

Playhouse on Park, which is based in West Hartford, thanked everyone who took part in the effort.

"Thank you to the incredible sponsors, volunteers, attendees, donors and businesses who supported our auction," wrote the organization in an announcement Thursday.

Sponsors included Richard and Lea Rubenstein; Hoffman Auto Group; Peoples Bank; Waypoint Wealth Solutions; Falcetti Pianos ;Powerstation Events; The Society Room of Hartford; Ruth and Ron Van Winkle; and Trinity College.

Playhouse on Park is greater Hartford’s professional theater group, offering a wide range of productions.

Meanwhile, the "Playhouse Theatre Academy" offers professional theater programs for emerging artists of all ages and abilities.
