West Hartford To Unveil Flood Control Plans For Busy Local Road

A public forum will take place at West Hartford Town Hall on Wednesday, June 14.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Town plans to rid a busy part of town of its flooding problem will be showcased at a special public forum on Wednesday, June 14.

The Town of West Hartford will host a public information meeting about plans to replace drainage culverts under and along Trout Brook Drive to reduce flooding in that area.

The work would be between Lawler Road and Asylum Avenue.

The meeting be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, at West Hartford Town Hall, Room 400, 50 S. Main St.

West Hartford-hired consultant CDM Smith will present the culvert replacement designs following recommendations from a comprehensive flood study.

The designs still need permitting approval before finalizing and progressing to a construction project, which is anticipated in late 2023 to early 2024.

Anyone who lives near this section of Trout Brook Drive, is encouraged to attend.
