West Hartford Working to Determine Source of Sinkhole
An exploratory excavation is scheduled to begin on Monday at the site of the sinkhole problem that began eight months ago.

West Hartford’s drainage contractor, Tabacco & Son Builders, will begin an exploratory excavation on Monday, June 15, at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and LaSalle Road to determine the source of a sinkhole problem that began eight months ago.
Crews will be digging 15 feet in a location that showed loose sediment on a recent robotic camera inspection of the drainage pipe, according to town officials.
Depending on the complexity of the problem, repairs may be made at the time of the exploratory excavation.
