AC Petersen Beats Berry Insurance 11-7
Jack Tapia continued his strong hitting and 11 year olds Bryan Renker and Elias Heinen combined for 4 hits but it was Colin Fitzsimonds that led the team offensively with a huge day at the plate; going 4 for 4 with 5 RBI’s and a home run. Solid pitching by Tyler Correia with two innings to start the game and strong middle relief from Tapia and from Renker to close the game and hold off a mounting Berry rally closed the door shut to give ACP its third win of the season. Berry’s star performances were turned in by Ned Blanchard (home run, single) and Drew Nemirow with three hard hit singles and a foul ball that will be talked about for years to come. The ball was hit straight down the first base line, an absolute "moon shot", that just hooked foul, hitting a huge tree about 30-40 feet up (if you are at Fern look for it. It it is right on the foul line at least 50-60 feet past the fence).
The game started with Berry making noise early in the top of the first as Blanchard’s home run put Berry on the board. Berry then proceeded to load the bases, but Correia was able to shut it down and get out of trouble with minimal damage. ACP came right back and scored eleven unanswered runs on offense powered by Fitzsimonds, Tapia, Renker and Heinen. Berry mounted a comeback led by Nemirow but ultimately fell short and ACP recorded its third win of the season.
Home Runs: Berry – Ned Blanchard 1, ACP - Colin Fitzsimonds 1

ProCourier Bandits 24 – VFH Post #9929 Mud Hens 10
In a game reminiscent of a Yankee/Red Sox rivalry game, two teams comprised, predominantly, of Duffy Elementary School students battled nearly 3 and a half hours at a sun-drenched Eisenhower Park. The Bandits finally outlasted the Mud Hens after nearly winning via the mercy rule in both the 4th and 5th innings. The Bandits got off to a big start by scoring the inning maximum 5 runs in both the first and second innings off Mud Hens starter Daniel Monyak. John Murphy, who had a monster game going 5-5 with 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored, had a 2 RBI single in both the first and the second. Owen McGoldrick, Garrett Brown, Scott LaBranch and Jacob Caron also had hits in the second inning for the Bandits. Meanwhile, the Bandits' Tyler Remigino shut down the Mud Hens over the first two innings (0Rs, 4Ks, 4BBs). In the top of the third, the Mud Hens' Mason Chabot baffled the Bandits' hitters with his off-speed pitches and the Bandits were only able to push one across on an RBI walk by Luke Yanosy. Aidan Bradley came on in relief of Remigino in the bottom of the third, but struggled with control and the Mud Hens were able to plate one as Quinn Spada drew an RBI walk off of the Bandits' LaBranch who replaced Bradley. The top of the fourth saw the Bandits knock in 4 more runs as Bradley had an RBI single scoring Murphy who had singled, Charlie Gardner had 2 RBIs on his single scoring Bradley and LaBranch, who had walked, and Yanosy had his second RBI walk scoring Gardner. Down 15-1, the Mud Hens battled back with 4 runs of their own to keep the game alive. Monyak and Kyran Costigan had singles and runs in the inning as the Bandits' LaBranch could not keep the ball down and ended up walking 3 in the inning, two of which scored, including Chabot and Evan Ittleson. Heading into the fifth inning, the Bandits once again went ahead by more than 12 with 3 runs on RBI singles by Murphy, Caron and Bradley but the Bandits' new pitcher, McGoldrick, also struggled with his command in the bottom of the fifth as the Mud Hens scored the inning maximum 5 runs with singles by Monyak and Eric Labrie who both also scored and runs by Chabot, Costigan and Andrew Reicher who all drew walks or were hit by a pitch. The Bandits finally put the game out of reach with 6 runs of their own in the top of the sixth with singles by McGoldrick, Caron and Bradley and a huge 3-run triple by Murphy. Braden Flowers, Brown, Remigino, Yanosy, McGoldrick and Murphy all scored in the inning. Down 14 the Mud Hens finally were unable to mount a counter attack as the Bandits' Caron pitched a scoreless sixth with 2 strikeouts. Bandits' manager Jim Yanosy appeared drained at the post game press conference but offered a hearty "Thank You" to all the fans of both teams that stuck around for the marathon match-up. "Hopefully, the boys get some rest this evening, cause we have a tough one tomorrow against the CowParade Bulls. We'll have Alex Jakubowski back, who missed the game due to a family event, and hopefully Remigino and LaBranch can both come back strong. Murphy was huge today and we'll need his bat the rest of the season. I wouldn't mind a quick one tomorrow."
