Through the Connecticut Humanities Council, cities and towns were able to raise funds during a 250-hour period that ran from July 1 to July 11.
While falling short of the total $10,000 goal, task force members were grateful for the community's support.
"Thank you to all those who donated to West Hartford's America 250 celebration fund, hosted by CT Humanities," wrote the task force.
