Three New Officers Sworn In At WHPD
One officer is in field training, while two others began training at the academy level Friday.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The ranks of West Hartford's Finest grew by three last week with the West Hartford Police Department swearing in three new police officers to the force.
On Sept. 21, West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor was at West Hartford Town Hall to swear in two women and one man to the town's law enforcement body.
The newest officers are Derek Andrad, Shantelle Weir and Elizabeth Fagan.

Andrade joined the WHPD from Henrico County, Va., where he served for two years prior to transferring to West Hartford, according to the WHPD's Facebook page.
Andrade is currently in field training in the patrol division.

Meanwhile, Weir and Fagan started training at the police academy in Meriden on Friday.
Also on hand at the swearing-in ceremony were West Hartford Town Manager Rick Ledwith and Carol Blanks, chairperson for the West Hartford Public Safety Committee Carol Blanks.
"Congratulations to WHPD's newest employees," wrote the department on social media. "We wish you a long, safe, and rewarding career."
