West Hartford's 'Holiday Stroll' Steps Off Thursday, Nov. 30

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town's largest holiday celebration will take place this week and the fun will be had before December, even, arrives.

On Thursday, Nov. 30, West Hartford’s classic New England-style, 36th annual Holiday Stroll at Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. (rain, snow, or shine).

This free, family-friendly annual event has something for everyone.

Guests can come to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, sample lots of tasty treats from area restaurants, listen to carolers and musicians, climb aboard a fire truck, see ballet dancers perform and much more.

It all starts at 5 p.m. at with the holiday tree lighting with Santa, located near the Cheesecake Factory in Blue Back Square.

Meanwhile, entertainment is showcased on three stages beginning at 5 p.m.: Webster Walk at Blue Back Square; Farmington Avenue stage; and PeoplesBank parking lot, 102 LaSalle Road.

American Sign Language interpreters will be on-site to ensure inclusivity.

The Farmington Avenue stage will feature a menorah lighting with Rabbi Rachel Zerin and Cantor Daniella Risman, as well as performances by Playhouse on Park, The Sound of New England Chorus, Hall High Choraliers and Ballet Hartford.

The Peoples Bank lot will showcase local The School of Rock.

Visitors can then stroll the streets of Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center to see the window displays created by West Hartford’s shop proprietors and take advantage of special promotions and activities.

Parking is available in the Isham, Memorial and Town Center garages and at the municipal lots at West Hartford Town Hall, Brace Road, and Farmington Avenue. Parking rates apply.
