West Hartford's Michael A. Cantor Elected to The Connecticut Historical Society's Board of Trustees
CHS membership elected Cantor for a three-year-term at its annual meeting.

The Connecticut Historical Society (CHS) membership has elected West Hartford's Michael A. Cantor, co-managing partner of Cantor Colburn LLP, and re-elected Southington's Kristen Palombizio, senior manager at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and to Board of Trustees. As members of the board, Palombizio and Cantor will help the CHS fulfill its mission to “connect you and the story of Connecticut” through exhibits, special events, guest speakers and research opportunities. Their 3-year-term appointments were made during the CHS's annual meeting on May 22, 2017.
For more than 30 years, Cantor has been at the helm of Cantor Colburn, managing its strategic expansion into one of the nation’s top-10 intellectual property (IP) law firms. He oversees more than 100 attorneys and patent agents working in the firm’s offices in Hartford, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, and Detroit. Cantor is a frequent speaker on IP legal issues and active in industry associations for which he travels around the world. He is passionate about growing innovation, technology and the economy in Connecticut, and has an active role in the state’s economic development as chairman of Connecticut Innovations – appointed by Governor Dannel Malloy in 2014 – and as a board member of the Connecticut Technology Council. He has received numerous awards for legal practice and legal and civic leadership. Cantor is a graduate of UConn’s School of Engineering and School of Law, where he has been an adjunct professor for more than 20 years teaching Patent Law and Procedure. He serves on the advisory boards of both schools.
Palombizio is a licensed CPA with 12 years of audit experience serving both SEC public clients and private companies, primarily focusing on industrial products and manufacturing. Palombizio has experience with US GAAP, SEC and financial reporting matters, business combinations, carve out audits as well as first year audits. As an assurance senior engagement manager, Palombizio coordinates and oversees her client engagement teams and assists in the delivery of all audit related services provided to her clients. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of CPAs. Palombizio also chairs the CHS’s Audit Committee.
