West Hartford's USJ Art Museum Opens New Exhibit This Week
The Art Museum at the University of Saint Joseph will open an exhibition looking at the use of paper in various artistic mediums.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A university art museum located in West Hartford will host a grand opening reception for its latest exhibit.
The Art Museum at University of Saint Joseph will open the exhibition "On Paper: Media and Techniques" with a reception on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The exhibition looks at the many materials and processes used to produce works of art on paper, including drawings, watercolors, and the various printmaking techniques.
Featured in the exhibition are several recent acquisitions by internationally recognized women artists, including a large lithograph by Elizabeth Murray (1940-2007), a multi-media work by Emma Amos (1937-2020), and a colorful drypoint/aquatint by Saito Noriko (born 1973).

The exhibition marks the return of regular Tuesday open hours at the museum and will be on view through Dec. 14.
The gallery containing drawings and watercolors will be rehung temporarily (Oct. 1- 12) with works of art under consideration for acquisition by the Art Museum at a Members’ Purchase Party on Thursday Oct. 10.
