"More than 150 years after his birth and 60 years after his death, Frost's poetry still resonates with some of our most pressing environmental and ethical concerns as a society.
"The opportunity to bring this distinguished literary critic and biographer to USJ will expose students, faculty, and the greater Hartford community to one of America's — and New England's — best-loved poets, pushing us to approach the world more critically, artfully, and compassionately."
Plunkett, a literary critic, has received fellowship support from organizations such as the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Leon Levy Center for Biography.
This program is supported in part by the Peter Brazeau Poetry Fund and the Maximilian E. and Marion O. Hoffman Foundation Fund for the Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph and organized by the Department of Cultures, Arts, and Literatures at USJ.
The lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer session, book signing and refreshments. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
