Keep Your Hyundais Safe With Free Wheel Locks: West Hartford PD

The free locks are available at the West Hartford Police Department while supplies last.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local Hyundai owners can get free steering wheel locks in an ongoing effort to stop a rash of car thefts of that brand of vehicle.

Due to a partnership with Hyundai, the West Hartford Police Department has obtained steering wheel locks as part of the campaign.

"Hyundai donated a limited number of these locks as a means of combatting the recent trend of stealing certain Hyundai vehicles without engine immobilizer software," wrote the WHPD.

To be eligible for the free lock, people must own a Hyundai and be a West Hartford resident and/or business owner.

The locks will be available at the front desk of the West Hartford Police Department, 103 Raymond Road.

Citizens will need to provide proof of affected Hyundai ownership and residency to obtain a lock.

"If you meet these requirements, please come down to the police department with the valid paperwork to obtain your free lock while supplies last," wrote the WHPD.
