WHPD Officer Named 2023's American Legion Top Cop: Police
The local American Legion chapter recently honored the West Hartford officer as this year's 'Officer of the Year.'

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A member of West Hartford's men in blue was recently honored by the local American Legion chapter.
The West Hartford Police Department has announced that WHPD Officer Dalton Gallagher was named the 2023 American Legion Officer of the Year.
West Hartford police made the announcement last week via social media.

"Officer Gallagher was selected by his peers for this prestigious award due to his hard work, dedication and reliability," wrote the WHPD. "Throughout Officer Gallagher's career, he has proven to be a vital member of our department."
Specifically, police officials cited Gallagher's "investigative ability and partnerships with local, state and federal agencies."
