The Duncaster Art Gallery will be showcasing a new exhibit in June featuring the work of Farmington Wildlife Photographer Sam Huntington. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on June 3 at 4:00 p.m. The exhibit will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. until June 30.
Huntington, who lives in Farmington, is a retired engineer from the aerospace world. Interested in photography most of his life, he began making digital photographs of South Florida wildlife in 2003. Over the years, he has mostly used Panasonic Lumix super zoom cameras. “One of my goals is to show that you do not need multi thousand dollar equipment to obtain satisfactory photographs,” said Huntington. Most of his photographs are from Sanibel Island and Southwest Florida. They are supplemented by a few from Farmington, Block Island and the Upper Amazon in Peru.
Attendance at the Opening Reception is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required. Visitors are also welcome to visit the exhibit weekdays from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. through the month of June. For more information or to make a reservation to attend the Opening Reception, contact Shelly Lombardo at (860) 380-5006 or sLombardo@Duncaster.org.
