YouTube Video's Drone Footage Raises Safety Concerns at State Capitol
Safety concerns were raised at the state Capitol due to a video posted by a petitioning candidate for governor from West Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT - Concerns over safety were raised at the state Capitol after a petitioning candidate for governor posted a video to YouTube, CT Post reported. The video featured a drone flying near the state Capitol dome in Hartford.
The aerial footage was published by Republican and former West Hartford Town councilor Joe Visconti as part of campaign video, according to CT Post. As a result, concerns have been raised at the Capitol as to whether the fly-over violated Federal Aviation Administration airspace regulations. The Capitol is located in a Class D controlled airspace due to it being near an airport and hospital, which means prior approval and notifications are required, CT Post reported. Visconti said the clip featured legally-shot stock footage, but his claims have been questioned by the Office of Legislative Management and others.
