WEST HAVEN, CT — A man was fatally shot early Sunday morning in West Haven, according to police.

Police responded around 2 a.m. to the area of York Street and Campbell Avenue on the report of a gunshot victim, according to officials.

Officers found a man with apparent gunshot wounds, according to police.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Our detective division has now assumed the investigation,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “No further information will be released at this time.”
