2-Alarm Fire Displaces Several In West Haven: Reports

WEST HAVEN, CT — Several people were displaced from their home after a two-alarm fire early Tuesday morning in West Haven, according to multiple reports.

NBC Connecticut reports crews responded to Gilbert Street around 6 a.m. and found fire coming from the third floor of the home. Some of the residents at the home are students at the University of New Haven, according to NBC Connecticut.

One person was trapped in the building and was assisted out by fire crews, according to WTNH News 8.

Officials told WTNH News 8 that a party was taking place on the third floor Monday night into Tuesday morning, but a cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

WFSB 3 reports one person suffered minor injuries and the home was heavily damaged in the fire.
