2 Dead In Murder-Suicide In West Haven: Police
Two people were found dead inside a home in West Haven on Wednesday.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Two people are dead after a murder-suicide Wednesday morning in West Haven, according to police.
Police responded to a home on Gilbert Street around 5 a.m. after receiving two 911 calls, according to Sgt. Patrick Buturla. A witness told officers that he heard loud screams coming from the home, but they had stopped, Buturla said.
Officers also encountered a juvenile female who had fled from the rear of the residence, according to Buturla.

Officers found a man and a woman dead of apparent stab wounds inside the home, Buturla said.
An investigation found that Juan Angel Rivera, 47, had killed the 41-year-old woman and then died by suicide, according to Buturla.

The couple had just recently ended a long dating relationship, Buturla said.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the woman’s death a homicide and Rivera’s death as suicide.
