4 Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges After Traffic Stop: West Haven PD

Police seized seven guns, which were all loaded and one was reported stolen out of Florida, after the traffic stop, according to officials.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Four men were arrested on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop Monday in West Haven, according to police.

An officer patrolling the area of Campbell Avenue and Center Street pulled a vehicle over after seeing the driver commit multiple motor vehicle violations, according to police.

The officer confirmed the driver’s license was suspended, police said.

While taking the driver into custody, the officer saw a gun in plain view in the car door’s pocket, according to police.

Police said the driver was handcuffed without incident, and the officer found other guns near the remaining occupants of the vehicle. They were all taken into custody.

Seven guns were found and seized as evidence, according to police.

“All firearms were loaded to capacity with some of the magazines exceeding our state limit,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “One of the firearms was discovered to be reported stolen from Florida.

“As a result, Zachariah Branch, Dustin Singleton, Elijah Shaw and Billy Clark Jr. were charged with multiple firearms and narcotic related charges.”
