West Haven Prevention Council Youth Committee is Looking for Members
Looking for Youth in Grades 6-12

West Haven Prevention Council (WHPC) raises awareness about youth healthy habits and preventing underage substance use through education, the support of law enforcement, and community collaboration.
WHPC recognizes the importance of having our youth serve as leaders in helping their peers make healthy choices. The West Haven Prevention Council Youth Committee is made up of youth in grades 6-12 from WHHS, Bailey and Carrigan. They are young leaders who provide a youth perspective on substance misuse, healthy habits, positive mental health, and other issues facing the community.
Projects are student-led and can be tailored to whatever topics they want to focus on; recently they created a video on youth problem gambling and attended local events to promote positive mental health. There are also opportunities to collaborate with youth from Milford, Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge.
